New Way Stationary Engines

Aim - To serve and support the New Way Stationary Engine restoration community.
There was a New Way Stationary Motor inclined to Hit and Miss. It was designed that way but intermittently it would missfire and this in the confines of the beekeepers shed fired my imagination, grabbing my senses. I just loved the sound of the New Way 3.5Hp working - likely fuelled by a too rich mixture.
With each missfire came the tell tale puff of blue smoke and via the old sawbench, the beekeeping manufacturing business was underway, alive and well. Alf was in his element. Romance, nah, hard work but Hoots the New Way went a long way in firing the imagination of times past running in the present. The present, after all, that's where life is, it's not in the past, but romancing the past, that's the present if you're living it.
The priveledge of life. Present and past is now!!! - alive.

LIBRARY - New Way Engine and Machine Company

New Way Resurrection:
Hard times and Circumstance often propel events with little sanity or control and often leading to an apparent ordained outcome.
It's Easter, the time of the year where we celebrate it's happening in the life of Jesus Christ where those involved with and who deeply loved Jesus were powerless to stop his Crucifixion and were staggered at his resurrection. Jesus proclaimed a "New Way" and in just 30 years established a way of life that endures today.

New Way Engine and Machine Company:
Resurrected from the "New Way Motor Company" it continued to produce it's engines to the virtual end of the 1930 decade. Engines that again were of high standard and continuing to operate today.

The New Way Motor Company was incorporated on January 1, 1905 and had a virtual meteoric rise as it expanded in the early 1900s. Engines were at times sent in train wagon loads - glory days for sure. It was faced with and responded to the rapid advancements in industry and farming with inovation and well directed promotional material and dealer network. Sales expanded both nationally and internationally to the likes of Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Egypt.

Management changes and the turmoil of WW1 and the ensuing developing of the "Great Depression" brought terminal challenges to the company. On April 24 1930 the company was decreed dissolved and a permanent receiver appointed.

New Life Challenges:
What then ensued was protracted legal challenge and argument over values and desire of majority major creditors to reform the company. The result -  New Way Engine and Machine Company.

LIBRARY:
We have recently added a collection of documents to the library all produced by the New Way Engine and Machine Company.
These cover the following Series "A" engines:

  • CH - 6 Hp     - Single Cyl Vertical
  • BH - 3 Hp     - Single Cyl Vertical
  • FH - 5 Hp     - Single Cyl Vertical
  • EH - 8 Hp     - Twin  Cyl Vertical
  • GH - 10 Hp   - Twin  Cyl Vertical
The CHA was in production continuously from 1919 and was developed and improved by the New Way Motor Company over the years to 1930.
Production commenced as a 5 Hp engine and with advancement and development becomes a 6 Hp power plant.

Have a look, they are great documents and excellent quality.

Life out of Easter
