New Way Stationary Engines

Aim - To serve and support the New Way Stationary Engine restoration community.
There was a New Way Stationary Motor inclined to Hit and Miss. It was designed that way but intermittently it would missfire and this in the confines of the beekeepers shed fired my imagination, grabbing my senses. I just loved the sound of the New Way 3.5Hp working - likely fuelled by a too rich mixture.
With each missfire came the tell tale puff of blue smoke and via the old sawbench, the beekeeping manufacturing business was underway, alive and well. Alf was in his element. Romance, nah, hard work but Hoots the New Way went a long way in firing the imagination of times past running in the present. The present, after all, that's where life is, it's not in the past, but romancing the past, that's the present if you're living it.
The priveledge of life. Present and past is now!!! - alive.

Dear fellow New Way enthusiasts,
On 29th March 2015 the Booleroo Steam and Traction Preservation Society will be holding their Annual Rally. This is a reminder of the event, giving details to do with the New Way feature we will be holding. Anybody is welcome to bring and run their New Way engines at the Rally, but they must have their own NHMA insurance or similar.

Camp sites are available for entrants, although basic there is shower facilities etc. If you want something more comfortable let me know and I will see what I can arrange, (not much accommodation is available as there is not a large town nearby). Power is available for caravans etc. We have ample shedding and swags in the sheds is another option. I can look something up for you with the local pubs etc, or arrange a member to give you a bed.

There is an airstrip next door if anyone wants to fly in, although it is not a commercial airstrip. Privately owned planes are ok.
A forklift is available for unloading etc, and a loading ramp is on the grounds.
The Rally starts at 10am Sunday, although we have a small swap meet at 8am. Members are around for about a week before the event if you want to set up the day before, or earlier.

The Society owns around 60 tractors, 60 Stationary engines including 3 New Ways, a dozen or so steam and traction engines and other items. Some tractors and engines are very rare. (Peterboro Lloyd and Glasgow tractors. Metters Illman Jelbart and multiple Bagshaw engines. A Fowler  traction engine with factory oil engine. 115 hp Blackstone, 375 hp Mirrilees, 125 hp Benz.)

As far as the New Way exhibit side of the rally goes, we have a dozen or more engines already as starters, including a 4 ½ hp  type f throttle governed, an Australian produced 4 ½ hp type c, a 6 hp type c, and multiple 4 ½ type c’s, a 3 ½ type c, multiple 1 ½ jewels etc.  Most of these belong to local members.

We want to open this right up so Your exhibit would be very welcome.

Booleroo Centre is around 270 km North West of Adelaide. [AREA MAP]
